not to be rude i absolutely support having the best possible care for ur animals but the circlejerking so many pet care communities will do is a little insane... like im really only active in fish/aquarium communities but just the like. “well yeah the minimum comfortable tank size for a betta is a 5g... but dont you think you could do a 10g :/ that would be better” like.. but some people can’t do a 10 gallon tank? or don’t want to? like the subtle implication that if you don’t go above and beyond whats already a good enclosure size for that animal you Don’t Really Care is so like silly to me and also just so harmful if you are trying to get into keeping that type of animal. it’s the comfortable minimum for a reason. it’s not a surviving minimum, it’s the amount of space the animal needs to thrive. don’t say something is a comfortable minimum and then subtly be like “but... you could Really do better :/” every chance you get ?? and this is coming from somebody who has a single betta in a 10 gallon like! obviously if you have the space for that and want it then fine! but it’s literally not the minimum and it drives me insane when people will guilt you because of it
